Talk To People Outside Your Department
Odds are there is more than just engineering in your organization. Take some time to talk to people who's day to day does not involve technology. This might mean someone in Sales or HR or Legal or Finance or literally any other area where people are less likely to have strong opinions about tabs vs spaces.
First off, you might just meet some cool people, but you also might learn more about what your organization really does. There are likely hard problems being solved that are totally different from what you encounter every day. You'll be likely to gain perspective on priorities and problems that you might not get just talking to other software engineers. Plus, when you have problems or questions that need expertise from other parts of the org, you'll know who to talk to.
Pop your head up once in a while and look around to get a feel for the whole organization that you're working in, it can be really enlightening.
